MESSAGE BY DR. STEVE KUBAN: Seven Declarations that Bring Victory
Revelation 12:11 declares, ”And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony.” Two of the most powerful weapons that we have in spiritual warfare are: The Blood of the Lamb and The Word of our testimony. Now I’ve just led seven songs that bring spiritual victory “through the word of our testimony”, and I’d like to suggest SEVEN things that we should testify and declare, in order to have spiritual victory in our lives.
First, we should declare the PROMISES God has made to everyone who follow, obey, and trust Him. The first song we sang was Psalms 91.“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” What a wonderful promise of our safety in God! The Bible is filled with God’s promises! So to be successful in spiritual warfare, TESTIFY and declare God's promises! Speak them, sing them, boldly. When you do, the devil doesn’t stand a chance against you! You will always win the spiritual battle.
Second, let’s declare WHO God is. And Who He is to us personally! In Psalm 91 v2 David declares, “And I will SAY of the LORD, “He is my refuge, and my fortress, my God, in Him will I trust.” Wow. And the second song, “Blessed be the LORD my Strength” comes from 2 Samuel 22: v1 “David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, in the day that the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul, and he said: “The LORD is my rock—my fortress, and my deliverer! In whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation.” David declared who God is, to him personally. And that's important. Verse 35: Blessed be the LORD my Strength Who teaches my hands to war.” I love this part My fingers to fight, mine eyes to see, blessed be the LORD!” Declare Who GOD is to you! “My goodness, My fortress! My High Tower, my deliverer, my shield! And He in Whom I trusteth, blessed be the LORD.” When we sing WHO God is personally to us, it brings spiritual victory in our lives. Each and every day declare the Psalms over your own life. “Overcome by the Word of Your Testimony” as you testify God's Word.
Third, we must declare God’s Name. Proverbs 18:10 says: “The righteous run into the Name of the LORD.” Now, what is the name of our LORD? Did you know, 6,288 times in the Old Testament God spells His Proper Name: four Hebrew letters Y-H-V-H. Many Bibles translate this as "the LORD”, using small capital letters. But His actual name is spelled YHVH, which can be pronounced Yahveh, Yahweh, Yehovah, Jehovah. It's very powerful! For example, “Hallowed be Thy Name, Jehovah God You reign.” This is a powerful song that the LORD gave me right after prophets laid hands on me and God prophetically declared that He would give me a song that brings healing victory and deliverance in the name of Jesus. And you know, Jesus IS Jehovah. So we need to proclaim His name. Don’t HIDE His name, don’t change His name. DECLARE His Name! Because HIS NAME brings victory to our lives! So, to overcome by “the word of our testimony”, TESTIFY and SPEAK GOD'S TRUE NAME! Jehovah, Yahveh, Yahweh.
Now, it’s also important of course that we speak the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I encourage you, use His Hebrew name, Yeshua. Yeshua means “Yahveh’s salvation” or YHVH saves.”—Yeshua’s name is incredibly powerful! The New Testament is filled with examples of how Yeshua’s name brought healing, deliverance and victory to peoples’ lives. —For example, Acts chapter 3 tells of a man, 40 years old, he was lame from birth. Peter said to him, “In the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, get up and walk! Immediately his feet and ankles received strength. 9 All the people saw him …and were filled with wonder and amazement….13 Peter [declared] “God…has glorified his Servant Yeshua, whom…He raised from the dead. 16 By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong…and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health. This lame man was healed in the name of Yeshua! And 5,000 people believed and were saved, because of the witness of the testimony and the miracles! Then later we see that the disciples lifted up their voice to God, praying, (Acts 4:29-30)“Grant to your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, while You stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the NAME of Your holy Servant Yeshua.” WOW! Talk about victory in spiritual warfare! AND remember, Our Lord Jesus IS Jehovah. (In Hebrew) Yeshua IS YHVH. Every one of YHVH's redemptive names is fulfilled in Yeshua. Jehovah Jireh means “The LORD our Provider.” Philippians 4:19 says “My God shall supply all your needs, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (in Messiah Yeshua).” And such is the case with every one of the redemptive names of Jehovah. Jehovah Rapha the LORD my healer, Jehovah Shalom the LORD my peace. You see Yeshua is our healer, and He is our peace. Jehovah Rohi the LORD my Shepherd, Jehovah M’Kaddesh the LORD my Sanctifier, Jehovah T’sidkenu the LORD my righteousness, Jehovah Nissi the LORD my Victory, and Jehovah Shammah, the LORD Who is present! All of these names are fulfilled in Yeshua. Because Yeshua Himself IS YHVH! Speaking and testifying and declaring the NAME of the LORD is one of our greatest spiritual weapons!
Fourth, we overcome the enemy in spiritual warfare, by declaring WHAT GOD has done. That’s why it’s important to read the Torah and the Gospels diligently. (And the Psalms, and the History books, and the Prophetic books. Read the Bible!) The Torah declares the amazing things that God did for Israel. Read it daily. Sing it daily. This is what (the devout) Jewish people do. But I encourage you, personalize the passages. Say, “Lord, I will enter in to my promised land, because I believe what You have promised me!” This will bring great spiritual victory in your life! —And especially read the Gospels, because the Gospels declare what Yeshua has done: how He came to destroy the works of the evil one. And apply these verses to your own life. Speak them out loud. Internalize what you are reading. And while you're reading, ask the Lord, “What are you saying TO ME in this passage, Lord?” And He will show you. And this will bring spiritual victory in your life!
The fifth thing we should testify, that we should declare, is GOD’S eternal Word. Isaiah 40:8 declares, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the WORD of our God stands forever!” The Bible is filled with declarations that are eternal. Read them. Declare them out loud, and in song.
The sixth thing we should declare is, Who Christ is: and what He did by coming to this earth and dying on the cross to save us. Declare songs like, “You came from heaven to earth, to show the way. From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay. From the Cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky, Lord I lift Your Name on High!” Declare in our songs how Christ demolished Satan and all the powers of darkness! And you will be victorious in spiritual warfare.
And Seventh-ly, declare WHO YOU ARE in Christ! This is a very powerful weapon in spiritual warfare. When the devil comes against you, or when he tells you “Oh, what a sinner you are”, respond by telling him WHO YOU ARE in Christ! “Devil, I’m a New Creation, no more in condemnation, I stand in the grace of God.”
Well, these are seven ways that we can overcome “by the word of our testimony.”
And as I conclude, I just want to refresh your remembrance of the sangs that we sang today.
======Steve corrected up to this point, at 1pm Friday. Will correct the rest, at 2:30pm
Song #3. “For the Lord is My Tower.” This is a declaration of WHO God is, to me personally. Who we are in Christ. And it’s a song of warfare. “And He gives ME the power To tear down the works of the enemy” Remember Yeshua’s incarnation on earth was part of God’s strategic plan to destroy Satan! 1 John 3:8 “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest: that he might destroy the works of the devil.” And in this song, the focus is two-fold:
The LORD…and…What He gives me . The LORD is My Tower and He gives me the power to tear down the works of the enemy. In a difficult hour, He will crush the devourer . And bring the powers of darkness underneath my feet!” Songs like this help us experience victory in our lives. Has this song, The Lord is My Tower, helped you? Has that song, “Hallowed Be Thy Name, Jehovah God You Reign”, has these words and the names of the LORD helped you? Please let me know. I'd love to hear.
—The FOURTH song that we sang was Exodus chapter 15: Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song unto the LORD. (This is when Pharaoh’s army were crushed, drowned by the Red Sea, God doing that miracle. And Israel came through with such deliverance. And Moses said, “I will sing unto YHVH , for He has triumphed gloriously the horse and his rider thrown into the sea. YHVH is my strength and song. and He has become my salvation. My yeshuah, the word Yeshuah in Hebrew means salvation.
Look at verse v11. Who is like Thee, O LORD among the gods?
Who is like Thee, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, doing wonders
who is like Thee, O LORD? 6. Thy right hand O YHVH, is majestic in power: Thy right hand, O YHVH, shatters the enemy. v3.The LORD is a warrior. YHVH is his name. (and I will worship Him forever.) What a great song this is! Who is Like Thee, O Lord! There are many Psalms and many songs like these. We should sing these kinds of songs in our personal lives, and in our congregations! This is how we overcome: by the word of our testimony, declaring how great our God is! Amen!
Song number 5 that I sang: “O Give Thanks Unto the LORD, for His mercy endureth forever.” This comes from 1st Chronicles 16, where King David brings the ark of God to Zion. He wrote this song, all the way up, 25 verses in our Bibles. Look at verse 34: “O give thanks unto the LORD, for HIs mercy endureth for ever.” Then jump ahead a few verses. In 2nd Chronicles 20 we read about King Jehoshaphat, a “vast army” has gathered against him. v3. “And King Jehoshaphat of Judah feared, and set himself to seek YHVH. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.” v4. And Judah gathered themselves together to ask help of YHVH, from all the cities of Judah they came to seek YHVH.” So this was a very large gathering. because It was a crucial moment for the people of the tribe of Judah. Their very existence was at stake. King Jehoshaphat stood in the house of the LORD, and he called out to God for deliverance! 2 Chronicles 20:17. God replied. This is what He said: “You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of YHVH with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for YHVH (the LORD) is with you.’” Glory to God!
And then in verse 21 King Jehoshaphat places the singers and musicians at the front of the army. Wow! and “They praised the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and they declared, “Praise YHVH (HalleluYah!) For His mercy endureth forever.”
v22 And when they began to sing and to praise, YHVH set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, …and they were smitten.” They turned on each other, they decimated each other. Now how cool is that? So declare your Thanks to YHVH, declare, “His mercies endure forever” and watch Him do spiritual miracles of victory in your life!
Song 6: This is a song the Lord gave me, when I was in Trinidad, gave it to me spontaneously, while I was in a service, at the keyboard. This is how it goes:
“We’re taking back what belongs to us! By the power of His Name…by the power of His blood… and by the power of His Word.” You see, all of these declare what Christ has done, by the power of His name, by the power of His blood. For His name is given. “For His name is given” His name is given to us, as a weapon of spiritual warfare)
Yeshua is risen! (this declares the power of Christ’s shed blood, and His resurrection!)
And His WORD is given, YES the Word of God is written!”
Declare God’s Word. It's FINAL. And guess what. I’ve read the end of the Book. We win. Because of Him. Amen! God’s Word is a FINAL declaration of unseen reality! So sing His Word. Sing of the blood. Sing of the name of Yeshua. He gives us victory. Glory to God. And He is risen from the dead.

The final Song: “I Will Fight For You.”
Now this is a prophetic promise from God, and it’s a song that the LORD gave me while I was leading worship in Kuwait and Dubai. It was in 1998, and just prior to doing the concert, I was informed that four Filipinos had died a brutal death at the hands of certain authorities in a nearby nation, I believe they died as martyrs for their faith. Now this is a heavy sing to hear, when you’re just ready to go and do a concert. But we continued, and during the concert, while we were worshiping, the LORD spoke to me: “I want to sing over My people.” So I just stepped out in faith, and I began to sing these prophetic words: “I Will fight for you. I will fight for you. By the power of my spirit, says the Lord. I will fight for you, I will see you through, by the power of My Spirit says the Lord.” That was the chorus of the song, and we just sang it over and over. Then a few days later, when I was in Dubai at King’s Revival Church, as I began to teach them this song, then the Lord spoke to me, and He said, “Now I want to sing the verse.” And I just stepped out in faith, and God gave the verse of the song: In the day of the battle you’ll be fearless In the midst of the storm, you will prevail As you lift up the mighty name of Jesus (Yeshua), Know My Church, that you will never fail! Cause I will fight for you….” by the Power of My Spirit, says the LORD.” So brothers and sisters, I share with you, these seven ways that we can overcome by the word of our testimony. And of course, telling people what the LORD has done for you, what He has done by saving you from the powers of darkness, from a life of sin. That is truly a powerful testimony, and we should always be ready to give a testimony of What Christ has done, because that's the reason we have hope today. So I wish you in Yeshua’s name, in YHVH’s name, by the blood of the Lamb, that you would have spiritual victory through the word of your testimony. May the Lord bless His word, and thank you for joining me. God bless you. I'm Steve Kuban in Orlando, Florida. Shalom.
What a powerful promise of God’s provision to give us spiritual victory! By the POWER of HIS Spirit! HalleluYah. The LORD has used this song to touch millions of people in many countries. I have many videos on Youtube singing this song, including some internationally televised events with up to one million people. So to recap:
To have spiritual victory, and overcome by the word of our testimony,
1. We should declare The Promises of God
2. We should declare WHO God is
3. We should declare God’s name
4. We should declare WHAT God has done
5. We should declare God’s eternal WORD!
6. We should declare WHO Christ is, and WHAT He did (especially to defeat the enemy)
7. and we should declare Who WE are, in Christ. (What Christ has given to us, to defeat Satan).
Exodus 14 verse 14:
The LORD will fight for you, and you shall be still.”
Deuteronomy 1:29-30 Don’t be terrified. Don’t be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes.”
Deuteronomy 20 verse 4: “for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
2 Chronicles 20:17 You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for Yahveh is with you.’”
Two minutes into the song, I began singing a prophetic.
