Here's an intense song the Lord gave me, direct from the Bible. Some of you will like this, some of you will probably not. But it's the Word of the Lord, and it's for a lot of people to heed! Here's an intense song the Lord gave me, direct from the Bible. Some of you will like this, some of you will probably not. But it's the Word of the Lord, and it's for a lot of people to heed! Today's Shabbat Torah portion is Toldat, and the Haftarah portion is Malachi 1:1-2:8. There is so much here that speaks about the importance of living right and according to truth. We're facing a time when people who are leaders are NOT standing up for God, nor for what is right in the land. Lawgivers themselves don't keep the law. Leaders who should be priests of the Lord, are not standing up for the righteousness of YHVH. There's a lot that can apply in these verses from Malachi today in our lands.
There are two song hooks the Lord gave me while reading these prophetic passages: the second one is Malachi 2:6: "The Law of True Instruction must be in your mouth. Let there be no injustice found on your lips." The first hook the Lord gave me, from which the entire song came forth, is in 2:3, where the Lord of Hosts (YHVH Tzevaot) declares, "I'll spread feces on your faces, you unholy priests." Hear the word of the Lord, from Malachi, God's messenger.
